Great Cords

I liked these, good quality and the hooks are plastic type instead of metal which I prefer so it doesn't scratch things.

Bungee broke right away!

I wanted black bungees for my bike. It is surprisingly hard to find black bungees. Happy to find them on Amazon. Price was a little high, but willing to pay since I couldn't seem to find black anywhere. They are shorter than the typical bungee I am used to. The hooks at the ends are metal. The bungees look nice and were the color I wanted.

Now the issues: I use these on the back rack of my bike. I live in Chicago and like the 5 mile ride to work when its warm. The first day out with these I wrapped them lightly on my back rack since I wasn't needing to strap anything down. They weren't pulled tight, but tight enough to not fall off. Not twisted or in the way of any moving parts on the bike. About 2 miles in my back tire stopped moving. I stopped and was shocked to see one of the bungees wrapped around the wheel axel! The metal hook was missing and cord was all ripped up after I finally got it unwrapped from my wheel. I'm thankful I wasn't carryin g anything or actually using the bungee for its purpose.

So overall, it serves my purpose, but really concerns me that the hook broke off right away. Amazon was great and sent me out two new ones right away. I've now had these two for over a year and no issues. Hopefully it was just one that was defective.

fit the bill bungee

as described total length including hooks was 18 inches. stretches to the 24" recommended max easily with not too much resistance, but enough to secure a load which is exactly what i needed. i needed something that would stretch to 23" with out being so tight that it would dent the sheet metal cover on my portable welder. with these bungees i can maneuver my welding cart around with out concern for welder slipping off its self, and then i can quickly remove it for going to remote locations where the cart cant get to.

another note: The "Double Wire Hooks" are very sturdy and prevent scratch.
